

Donkey Kong now has his voice from the Mario and Donkey Kong Country games, as opposed to the more realistic gorilla-like grunts that served as his voice in previous Super Smash Bros.It is a somewhat weaker projectile, but can be a useful tool for zoning and edge-guarding. The barrel obeys gravity, and as such will fall off of ledges. A reference to the original Donkey Kong game, Donkey Kong will roll a small barrel forward on the ground. Hand Slap has been replaced with a new down-special move: Barrel.Mario has new voice clips taken from Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Odyssey.It functions similarly to Ganondorf's Final Smash. As can be done in Super Mario Odyssey, Mario uses Cappy to capture a T-Rex, after which, he rushes forward, doing dealing immense damage and knockback to any opponents in his path.

Mario Finale has been replaced with a new Final Smash: T-Rex Capture.As such, this move is very useful for recovery. If the move input is done a second time before Cappy returns, Mario will dive forward and bounce off of Cappy, as can be done in Super Mario Odyssey. Holding down the button causes Cappy to hover midair for a short time, during which Mario can bounce off of him. Using the move will cause Mario to throw his hat in front of him, which then flies back onto his head like a boomerang. Cape has been replaced with a new side-special move: Cappy.Many smaller changes for the sake of balance have additionally been made, but are not listed here.
